I’m trying to appraise this stone, but I can’t tell if it is a synthetic, sky blue topaz, or an aquamarine/beryl. If anyone can tell from the photos, I’d greatly appreciate it!
If the setting is fairly old, I think your chances are good that it’s a light colored aqua, but the only way to be sure is to have the stone tested.

Agreed.
The ring still has the Stuller style number and mm size stamped in raised letters inside the shank, so I doubt the ring is older, but cannot verify the age of the stone. A local gem identifier has passed away since the last time I contacted him. Assuming GIA would be the next best option, but if anyone knows of anyone who could identify stones in the MidWest, appreciate any info. Thanks
