Value of diamonds if you made it into jewelry and value by themselves

Hi i have something someone sold me from etsy that they found in off alb new mexico rio river after it rained. They said they thought they were diamonds. Do they look like diamonds? They are yellow. One is 435 carats. it has more inclusions. One is 210 carats. It has less inclusions. What is the value of them alone and in jewelry. I paid 300 dollars for both of them. I think their really cool …

Thanks

They look more like quartz stones to me. Opaque quartz gets its value from how they are carved, and, more importantly, who carved them. In this case, name association brings more value than the stone itself.
Without a reasonably well known name behind the effort, the stones are just river rocks.

These aren’t carved. There translucent beccause light passes through them.

Actually ones a sapphire and ones a herickmer diamond. Thanks

If you dont mind my asking… how did you conclude that one is a herkimer diamond and other is a sapphire?

Herkimer typically refers to the herkimer mine in NY, and what comes out isn’t diamonds, it’s quartz. None of those stones look like a herkimer diamond. So your conclusions as to what they are intrigued me. I am open to correction and insight as i could always be wrong. Thanks!

Their both sapphires. My mistake.

Knowing their sapphire what is the value of them?

What tests did you use to determine that they are sapphires?

PLEASE…PLEASE… see if you can get your money back!!! These are next to worthless pieces of quartz, and it is so great that you decided to do some checking with the experts and the knowledge shown by the many members of this society. It is a pleasure for many of us to assist someone from getting taken by the too many dishonest “dealer” or “sellers” that exist in our area of gems and minerals. Act as quickly as possible… you may still be able to recover your money. Good luck.

please do not buy online unless you know the dealer. Buy only from a reputable online company with real physical stores… DO NOT BUY FROM ETSY!.. this is the third time I am saying this… sellers on ETSY often resell what they bought on ETSY from someone else. Many of the resellers as well as buyers don’t know what they are buying except on the word of the seller… resellers don’t know either… they only have the word of who sold it to them in the first place.
The RioGrande in Albuquerque is well known to me… river rocks and sand… what you are showing is quartz/quartzite pebbles washed down from the mountains upstream. There are no diamonds within the RioGrande watershed period!!!.. Diamonds in the US are at the State Line diamond pipes on the Wyoming/Colorado border… the rivers drain east towards the Mississippi…absolutely no sapphires either in the RIoGrande watershed… US sapphires are in Montana…Yogo gulch, Helena… rivers drain into the Missouri River…

Get your money back if you can… if someone is mispresenting river rocks as diamonds, the sapphires they are exchanging them for are also going to be misrepresented… Cut off any further contact with dishonest dealers…There no such thing as a free lunch… getting valuable gemstones for dirt cheap means you are buying dirt…it’s scamming.

If you persist buying online, you will get burned repeatedly. Not that it’s impossible, but one has to be an expert at gems before buying… pictures tell only a small part of the story.
