I have found they all work rather well it really comes down to what you are comfortable holding and spending on batteries
Way Too Cool LLC sells great LW, SW and MW lights for a reasonable price at Fluorescents.com. The convoy C8 is powerful enough to walk around at night using it like a flashlight to find fluorescent materials and minerals.
