Not really, mainly carvings and cabochons. I have a whole creek of Jasper, green is the rarer color though. You can get many colors of the green.
These rocks that they are mining could be Greywacke which you can find in the area of Jasper.
There is lots of Greywacke in the region. are they valuble ? they are not beautiful ? what is use of Greywacke ?
Not sure where you are but it is quarried in Australia for roads. No value except in Road Building.
