Hi looking for confirmation of origin on this yellow sapphire I’ve got. I’m a student gemologist. First of all apologies for the photos they have been taken on my phone looking down my microscope. The first image that you will see I believe to be biotite? Please correct me if I’m wrong. The second image I believe is a finger print FTR with some dissolved silk in the background indicating heating. The stone is free of any other inclusions. I think it’s Sri Lanka origin but advise would be appreciated! Thanks.

Hi Henry,
Those inclusions seem to be clouded. This could indicate the stone was heat-treated. However, not seeing the structure of the included crystals, makes it difficult to determine if they are biotite.
There is a singular two-phase inclusion in the upper right portion of that first image. That one is very intriguing, with a disc-like halo.
