What is the difference between precision cut, commercial cut, machine cut and hand cut sapphires?
Precision cut is when the lapidary artist cut the stones design to proper angles for the ri of the stone spend a lot of time trying to get the meet points as good as it can be. Polish to highest standard.
Commercial cut is when the cutter cut for speed and weight. Not necessary taking consideration to windowing meetpoints etc. polished with a bigger grit diamond compound. Normally 14000grit. Machine cut is a 3 axis machine doing the job.
