What’s a recipe for a good abrasive paste compound for various fine grits of aluminum oxide polish ?

Hi I have always use 50,000 diamond dust on a tin lap for sapphire works well good polish, I know some cutters use 100,000 diamond but I find it is not necessary

Does aluminum oxide work good on corundum?

I had heard that even though it is softer than corundums 9 the mohs scale it actually does a good job of providing a sapphire/ruby polish.

Have you had any luck?

I think some people finish of with cerium oxide

What you should remember is , Aluminum Oxide is ground up corundum, same material that you are polishing,diamond does a much better job and faster
