I am new to gemology. I purchased a refactometer and it did not come with instructions. How do I find out how to use it?

The IGS has a three-part introduction to the refractometer.

You could try YouTube. Just a thought. Did it come with the refractive solution? You will of course need that to properly test any gem. You could also try some of the GIA website instructional info associated with the one the sell on the GIA site. That where I purchased mine from and it came with basic instructions. I believe IGS has the basic information on their site here as well.
