Pretty rock - what is it?

Hi, I’m new here today as I’ve been trying to research what type of stone I have.
It’s very lustrous, with pink, lavender and salmon colors in it. I thought it was rose quartz, but IDK.

Hoping someone here might have some insight to share!

My daughter found this near our home in South Paris, Maine about 15 years ago.

Thanks for any help!

almost certainly a matrix of rose quartz and milky quartz.

This would be “Rose Quartz.” It’s a beautiful stone and worthy of any landscaping project. I have a few of these beautiful stones on my property.

My Best Wishes!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I always believed it was rose quartz, but my daughter thought it was something else. Happy for the info!

Thank you for sharing this info with me, SteveC! My daughter thought it was too transparent to be rose quartz - we’re just newbies, so appreciate your help! :grinning:

FYI, rose quartz is sometimes usable for cabachons and may even show a star or cats-eye effect.
