If there are no known synthetic Painites, then what are the EBAY listings for Painite?
Painites are not as rare as they once were. You can now find small, faceted painite gemstones for sale. As for any painites sold on eBay, buyer beware. Some gems might be advertised as “painites” but they could be just lookalikes. As for synthetic painites, I haven’t found any documented references to lab-created painites. It’s unlikely there is enough demand for painites from gem consumers to make it economically viable for anyone to try to grow painites in a lab.
