This Chrysoberyl Cats Eye is completely natural and treatment free mined at our local mine here in Sri Lanka.
The Cats eye - chrysoberyl is a very hard material; hardness of 8.5 on the Mohs scale. It has distinctive surface luster with a refractive index (RI) of 1.745. The RI is an indication of the amount light bend by a mineral. The difference between the minimum and maximum RI is known as Birefringence. Stones with high birefringence reflect the light rays at different parts of the stone causing an apparent doubling at the stones face.
