Pricing on jewel quality pieces of Jade, $ value per gram

Jade prices are highly dependent on nuances in color and texture of the piece, as well as its cut, where cuts that use more rough are much more expensive. The IGS jade buying guide has more information on different aspects of jade quality.
In general, jade price is determined by the piece, not by weight. Still, one gram of top-quality jadeite is considered large. Nephrite is much cheaper and is available in larger sizes.
IGS is working on updating and adding to our price guide, and we plan on including jade in our updated price guide.
