Taking the mini class being in the Vintage Native jewelry trade I am left confused and my brain is racing! As buyers we are taught faux is bad but I am learning there are times when faux was necessity and my heart dropped! Does anyone have any information on this topic they can share?
how vintage? New Pawn style for the 1960’s-70’s sometimes used faux coral and stabilized turquoise.Navajo jewelers are recreating 19th century vintage style faux old pawn style. Inquire at the Albuquerque Turquoise Jewerly Museum. They can do appraisals also, if it’s worth it to do so. Recreated new faux antique jewerly does have a market but no where as valuable as the real stuff.
