How to cut corundum/cubic zirconia

Hi, I’m trying to cut a piece of cubic zirconia. Its rank 9 on MOHs scale of hardness if I’m correct but I had no idea how difficult it would be. My 100 grit lap is barely denting it. I’ve mostly cut Quartz’s during my short faceting life so I’ve never cut anything above 7 on MOHs. Is there any advice or equipment anybody would recommend for me to cut harder material like cubic zirconia? Thanks.

It should cut it. Are you sure it isn’t a diamond?

Is the 100 grit lap diamond or standard abrasive? If it’s standard abrasive, then it’s garnet-based and softer than CZ. I’ve cut CZ with diamond and 100 grit should eat it up.

No, what I meant is, are you sure the CZ stone is CZ or is it a diamond.

Given the price difference between CZ and diamond, getting a cuttable-size diamond for anything less than a fortune isn’t very likely.
