Gemstone Jewellery Design Layout Pad

I’m looking for a sticky/tacky white layout pad to assist me with jewellery/gemstone layout designs. Quite possibly made of a gel, or tacky material. Enabling the positioning of gemstones so they don’t move whilst creating a design. I’ve seen them on social media, but I can’t find them anywhere - probably because I don’t know what they’re actually called.

Does anyone know of such a thing? Where they can be purchased? Or an alternative?

We’ve found that Blu-tack (by Bostik) is effective at holding things in place without leaving much residues.

It’s not a whole sheet like you’re looking for, but could get the job done in a pinch. (they make it colorless)

Matthew,

I have used these Sticky Bead Pad to lay out stones and arrange them, but they are not useful for drawing or tracing around the stones and they don’t have a very large surface area. They are not very deep either, so if you are going to “stand up” the stones to show the tables, @beargems and @ElizabethM44801 suggestions work really well. I have also used Rodico which doesn’t dry out or transfer any coloration dye or oils.

I second the vote for Rodico. It is similar to blue tack but better in my opinion. If you can look around, you can get it reasonable.

I tried using that. My problem was any heat at all and it melts. So it was not good for me. Glad that it works for you. I do use plasticine. Playdough in regular speak. Lol. I have tried making it thicker like clay but have not succeeded yet.
