Ethiopian Welo Opal Cutting

I recently purchased a 3.5gram Ethiopian Welo Opal rough from a dealer and I wanted to know if anyone in Canada or The US with experience cutting Welo opals would be interested in cutting it.

I’ve cut a few pieces like that. Since the colors disappear when wet, it’s not as easy as Australian opal to orient the stone for best results because you can’t react on the fly during the cutting process. Have had cracking problems, so I’ll stick to Australian.

Hey, I’m a lapidary artist in the the US, and I work with ethiopian opal. My name is Alexis, are you looking to hire a artist to work this stone and send it back to you, or donate this piece to an artist?
