Could this be a diamond shape in my ophiolite rock i posted about earlier? I found this shape. I keep on getting it dirty with water again when water is on it. I have scraped it with a diamond file trying to get other rock off. It is actually a white stone underneath! Thanks
never mind this is just a rock! I think it is by chance it was oddly shaped!
actually the more I uncover this rock… it has 8 sides. it is a ophiolite rock. I don’t think quartz can be in a ophilotice rock. I am not a expert. But could a shape be like a diamond after all? I got the rock way more cleared off. Way more than the current pictures cleared off rock around it! thanks
What “Diamond Shape” ?!
You may want to apply a small amount
of olive oil to the flat surfaces (or any surface, if you don’t mind the fact that it may discolor the stone versus how it now appears). This is a trick used to spot surface colors/patterns on rough stone that may be obscured by time. Again, don’t do this if you are not ok that it can sink in the pores on porous stones and change their surface appearance, but it’s certainly non-destructive compared to the millions of years of time that stone has survived and you may get a better feel for what’s underneath.
