Hi,
I have a large Citrine Picture.
The stone has a long dark streak and kinks off sharp 90 degrees. Is this a natural inclusion?
Does anyone know how it occurs?
Many thanks,
Johann

Probably a result of a twinned crystal prior to cutting/faceting - would indicate most likely natural
Great overview of twinning!
There is also the possibility of synergistic intergrowth forming a “phantom” within.
Or, as the larger crystal forms in its natural hexagonal pattern, other structures, inclusions, etc, will occur along the c-axis. These will oft appear longer and in straight lines, and certainly explains their appearing at 90 degree angles to the cystal faces.
