Found in San Felipe bc Mexico

I have a 5 x 5 x 5 inch basket on a special SG scale in my lab. That would be the first place it would go. The SG or density can separate it from many specimens and generally makes the ID for me. ;))

I would agree with mhutton. An SG test would be most beneficial.

Doing as SG is easy-breezy with a gram scale, a bowl of water, some cheese cloth, a simple calculator, a note book, and IGS Specific Gravity for Gems Chart.

Off-hand, I would say it is carbonaceous. If it is, indeed, carbonaceous, you might be looking at something extraterrestrial, given the beautiful shape and its edgings. I think I am seeing some flow lines, and some melt product on the end, but better photos would be a good thing.

Cheers;
Steve
