The gemini 3 digital refractometer is just an amazing and worth the 590-600$ price tag! Whatever your comfortable with,but I don’t have to use toxic chemicals or anything… I think it will also read measurements up to and don’t quote me,2.02 or something like that, however after you realize how much more it will do after you practice 
it is my go 2 fav tools! Except maybe for the cool 
factor of a hanneman specific gravity scale! It’s just cool and it works! As long as you practice using it… Practice makes perfect
