Relevance of ID’ing an opal matrix in a gem lab of host country?

Hello all,

I’m needing to know whether or not there is any difference in credibility or value in having an opal’s matrix identified in my own country as opposed to the source country. I believe I have come across a unique matrix but my counterpart in this venture is without a vehicle and is very rural, so getting the opal to a city with a gemology lab for proper identification is actually more difficult in this case than just having the specimen shipped to me. If I take this specimen to a gemology lab near me in the United States, would this be a mistake?

Thank you

It will be fine to have it certified by a credible lab.
